FACEBOOK PAGES HAVE TWO NEW SECTIONS. MOST OWNERS WILL LEAVE THEM EMPTY.

Shareable TL;DR reported on October 15, 2026 that Facebook added Credentials and Specialties and Services sections under the About tab on Pages, so admins can highlight qualifications, expertise and services. That is free space to answer the two questions every new customer has: can you do the job, and do you do the job I need?

AT A GLANCE

By Conqueror Capital · Published

The short answer: Fill in Credentials with licences, certifications and training you can prove, and Specialties and Services with the work you want more of, in the words customers use. Then use the same wording on your website and Google Business Profile, so every place a customer checks tells the same story.

WHAT CHANGED ON FACEBOOK PAGES

october 2026

According to Shareable TL;DR, Facebook has added two sections under the About tab on Pages: Credentials, and Specialties and Services. They let Page admins highlight their qualifications, expertise and services.1 New Facebook features often reach Pages in stages, so you may not see them on your Page yet. Check the About tab in edit mode.

WHAT TO PUT IN CREDENTIALS

only what you can prove
  • Licences your trade or profession requires, with the issuing body.
  • Certifications and training from manufacturers, associations or schools.
  • Memberships in trade bodies, if they are current.

List only what is real, current and in the business's name. If a customer or a regulator asks for proof, you should be able to show it the same day. An expired licence or a certification held by someone who left is worse than an empty box. If you are not sure whether a claim is allowed in your industry, check with your licensing body before posting it.

WHAT TO PUT IN SPECIALTIES AND SERVICES

the work you want more of

Lead with the jobs you most want, not every job you have ever done. Use the words customers use. People search for "water heater replacement", not "hydronic solutions".

Keep each service short and specific. If you serve certain towns or only work with certain customers, such as homes or businesses, say so. A clear list helps the right customers contact you and saves time with the wrong ones.

MAKE FACEBOOK, GOOGLE AND YOUR WEBSITE AGREE

one story everywhere

Customers check more than one place before they call. If your Facebook Page lists services your website never mentions, or your Google Business Profile names a licence your site doesn't, people notice.

  1. Write one master list of services and credentials.
  2. Use the same wording on your website service pages, your Google Business Profile and your Facebook Page.
  3. Review the list every quarter, and the day anything changes.

Our business listings guide explains why matching details across sites matters.

FOR MULTI-LOCATION AND LARGER BUSINESSES

consistency at scale

Businesses with many locations often have a Page per location, managed by different people. Without a standard, one Page lists ten services and another lists none.

  • Set a standard list of services and company-wide credentials, with room for location-specific ones.
  • Check location licences separately. Some licences belong to one site or one person, not the whole company.
  • Route claims through review in regulated industries such as health, finance or legal services, so nothing goes live that compliance has not approved.
