Google Tests a New Profile Performance Report
Google is testing a new performance report for Business Profiles that puts engagement, reviews, search trends, audience and recommendations in one view, and Conqueror Capital's advice is to set a monthly routine for reading it now, with the report you already have. Search Engine Roundtable reported the test on October 23, 2026, from screenshots sent in by people who can see it.
AT A GLANCE
By Conqueror Capital · Published
The short answer: The new report is a test and not everyone has it. The report most owners see today already shows views, searches, calls, website clicks, direction requests and more for verified profiles. Pick a date each month, compare the same numbers to last month, and act on what changed. A bigger report only helps if someone reads it on a schedule.
WHAT GOOGLE IS TESTING
Search Engine Roundtable reports that Google is testing a completely revamped performance section inside Business Profiles, with metrics on engagement, reviews, search trends and audience, plus top recommendations and a more broken-out view of review details.1 The screenshots in the report show separate Overview, Engagement, Reviews, Audience and Search trends sections.1
The report's author says he does not see the new version on his own account yet; the screenshots came from two other people.1 It is also separate from Google Business Home, the new beta portal the same site covered the day before.1 So treat this as a test that may change or reach your account later.
WHAT THE CURRENT REPORT ALREADY SHOWS
You do not need to wait for the new version. Google's help page says performance data is available only for verified Business Profiles, and that it includes views, searches and actions from both organic search results and Google Ads.2 The metrics Google lists include:
- Views: how many people viewed your profile on Search and Maps. Google counts a person once a day.2
- Searches: the search terms people used to find your business, updated at the start of each month.2
- Calls, website clicks and directions: the actions people took from your profile.2
- Messages, bookings, products, menus and offers: where they apply to your business.2
Google notes that only metrics that apply to your business appear, and that you can set a date range to track performance over a period of time.2
HOW TO READ IT IN TEN MINUTES A MONTH
- Same date, same range. Open the report on the same day each month and compare the last full month with the month before.
- Read the search terms first. They show the words customers use. If people search for a service you offer but your website has no page for it, that is your next page to write.
- Compare actions, not just views. Views going up while calls and website clicks stay flat often means the profile is seen but not chosen. Check photos, hours, reviews and replies.
- Write down one change. Note what you changed that month (new photos, a new service, review replies) so next month's numbers have context.
For calls and form leads that start on your website, the profile report is only part of the picture. Our guide on tracking where customers come from covers the rest.
FOR MULTI-LOCATION AND ENTERPRISE TEAMS
Google says you can access performance information for individual or multiple profiles.2 For a mid-size business or a chain, the value is in comparison: which locations get views but few calls, which get searched for services they do not list, and which have review activity that needs a reply. Agree on one monthly export, one owner per region, and the same few numbers for every location, so the report leads to decisions instead of a pile of screenshots. Our multi-location Business Profile guide covers the setup side.
