LinkedIn Pinned Comments Are Back: What to Pin

LinkedIn brought back pinned comments in October 2026, so a company page can now keep a chosen comment at the top of every post's discussion, and Conqueror Capital sees it as a reminder of a wider rule: put the answer where people look first. Here is how pinning works, what a business should pin, and how the same idea applies to the pages on your website.

AT A GLANCE

By Conqueror Capital · Published

The short answer: On October 15, 2026 LinkedIn announced that authors can pin helpful comments again. Its help page says you can pin a comment on your own posts, as a profile or as a page admin, and the comment can be yours or another member's. Pin the comment that answers the question your post raises, and make sure the page it points to gives the same answer in its first lines.

WHAT LINKEDIN CHANGED

october 15, 2026

In its October 15, 2026 product update, LinkedIn listed a short line under new ways to connect: "Authors can now pin helpful comments, making it easier to highlight valuable contributions and guide the discussion."1

It is a return, not a first. Social Media Today noted that LinkedIn rolled out pinned comments to some users in 2022 and shelved the option shortly afterward.3 The feature is now documented again in LinkedIn Help.2

HOW PINNING WORKS

from linkedin help

LinkedIn's help page sets out the rules:2

  • Your own posts only. You can pin a comment on your own posts, both as a profile and as a page admin.
  • Anyone's comment. The pinned comment can be written by you or by another member.
  • Always on top. A pinned comment shows at the top of the thread, in both the Most Relevant and the Most Recent views.
  • Most post types. Text, photo, video, event and article posts all qualify, but not a Live Event while it is running.
  • No replies. Comment replies cannot be pinned.

To pin, open the post, find the comment, select the More icon on it and choose Pin this comment. Unpinning works the same way from the pinned comment.2

WHAT A BUSINESS SHOULD PIN

one useful comment

LinkedIn's own advice is to pin comments that encourage engaging and authentic conversation, such as comments that share your audience's experience or advice, or a question you want readers to answer.2 For a company page, that leaves a few good choices:

  1. A customer's question, answered. If someone asks the question your post raises, reply with a clear answer and pin their comment so the exchange sits on top.
  2. A useful addition from someone else. A customer, partner or staff member who adds a real example often says more than another line from the brand.
  3. Your own short answer plus one link. When the post points to a longer guide, a first comment that gives the answer in a sentence and then links to the page that explains it in full keeps the next step easy to find.

LinkedIn has not said that pinning a comment changes how far a post travels in the feed, so treat it as a way to make each post more useful, not as a reach tactic. Our post on how LinkedIn's feed reads what posts are about covers what LinkedIn has said about ranking.

answer first

A pinned comment works because it puts the most useful answer where readers look first. Many business websites do the opposite: the answer to "how much", "how long" or "do you serve my area" sits halfway down a long page, under an introduction nobody needed.

If your LinkedIn comment links to a page, that page should keep the promise in its first sentence. Then add detail, a short FAQ and one clear call to action. That is how we build service pages and Resource Hub guides: one main question per page, the answer at the top, nothing important buried. Our posts on giving every task its own clear page and blogs versus a Resource Hub explain the setup.

LinkedIn is also a rented platform: the feature came and went once already.{S(3)} The page you link to is the part your business owns. See owned channels versus rented platforms.

SMALL, MID-SIZE AND ENTERPRISE

what changes at scale

Small businesses: after each company post, check the comments the same day. If someone asked a real question, answer it and pin it. If nobody has commented yet, add your own short answer with one link.

Mid-size businesses: agree who on the team may pin and unpin, and keep a short list of the website pages that answer your most common questions, so the link in a pinned comment always goes to the right page.

Multi-location and enterprise brands: several admins may run one page, so write down what may be pinned: no customer details, no unapproved claims, and links only to approved pages. Pinning works on each page's own posts, so regional or product pages need the same rules. Check that the page each link points to answers the question in plain text, for every location it covers. See how we work with mid-size and enterprise teams.
