How much does a small business website cost in 2026?
It depends on who builds it. A do-it-yourself builder is a monthly subscription plus your own time, while a designer or agency usually charges a one-time build fee, then extra for hosting and changes. At Conqueror Capital it is $297 a month in the US, with hosting and updates included and no contract.
Below: the four ways to get a site side by side, what our plan includes, and the costs people forget. For the trade version, see contractor website cost.

WHAT ARE THE WAYS TO GET A SMALL BUSINESS WEBSITE, AND WHAT DOES EACH COST?
There are four common routes. Only the prices we can point to on a public page are shown as numbers; the rest depend on the provider and the job.
| Option | How you pay | Who does the work | Watch for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Do-it-yourself builder | Monthly subscription. Squarespace, for example, lists its Basic plan at $25 a month billed monthly, or $19 a month billed annually1 | You | Your time, and whether the site ever shows up on Google |
| Independent designer | Usually a one-time build fee | One person | Who hosts and fixes it after launch, and what changes cost |
| Agency | A larger one-time project, often plus a monthly retainer | A team | Contract length, and who owns the domain and the content |
| Conqueror Capital plan | $297 a month in the US, no contract | We build and run it | It is a monthly plan, not a one-time purchase |
We do not quote other agencies' or designers' prices: they vary too much to state honestly. Builder prices change often; check the provider's own page.

WHAT COSTS DO PEOPLE FORGET WHEN PRICING A WEBSITE?
- Domain renewal every year, and whose name it is registered in.
- Hosting and security updates, and who fixes the site if it goes down.
- Changes: a new service, new photos, new hours. Ask what each one costs.
- Email on your domain, often billed separately.
- Your time. On a builder, every hour on the site is an hour not spent on customers.
HOW MUCH DOES A SMALL BUSINESS WEBSITE COST IN CANADA?
Pricing for Canadian businesses is different from the US price. Ask us on a call and we will tell you what applies. Trade businesses can also read what a contractor website costs.
WILL A NEW WEBSITE GET ME MORE CUSTOMERS?
No one can honestly promise that. Google says there is no way to request or pay for a better local ranking.2 A clear site with your services, your town and a phone number you can tap makes it easier for the people who do find you to call. The checklist is in our small business website checklist.
