WHEN IS WIX OR SQUARESPACE THE RIGHT CHOICE FOR A SMALL BUSINESS?
A builder fits if you enjoy doing it yourself, have a few evenings to write and lay out the pages, and will come back to update photos, services and hours as the business changes. It works well when someone keeps it current.
WHEN IS A DONE-FOR-YOU WEBSITE THE RIGHT CHOICE?
A done-for-you website fits if your evenings go to customers, quotes and invoices and you would rather answer a few questions than learn an editor. It also fits when you want the website and the Google Business Profile handled by the same people, so the name, phone number and services match in both places. HOW MUCH DOES EACH OPTION COST?
- Squarespace: lists its Basic plan at $25 a month billed monthly, or $19 a month billed annually.3
- Wix: publishes its plans and prices on its own plans page; they vary by plan and billing period.1
- Conqueror Capital: $297 a month in the US, with two sites (your main website plus a Resource Hub of local guides), hosting and updates included, and no contract. Canadian pricing is different; ask us on a call.

WHAT SHOULD I ASK BEFORE CHOOSING A WEBSITE OPTION?
- Who owns the domain? It should be registered in your business name, with the login in your hands.
- What happens if I leave? Ask whether you can move the domain and keep your text and photos.
- Who updates the site? New services, new photos, holiday hours: you, or someone you can call?
- Who sets up the Google Business Profile? A website alone does not put you on Google Maps. See website vs Google Business Profile.
- What does live mean? Published and working. No one can promise when or where search engines will show a new site.
